Anansi Spider Storytelling Workshop

Have you heard of Anansi? A mythical creature – a spider; full of mischief and fun. This family workshop is led by storyteller Mary Koomson alongside local crafter Pauline Brobbey who together will tell you about Anansi’s adventures, and how to make an Anansi to take home, so the stories continue.

Mary has prided herself in ensuring she teaches her own children the Akan language and has also started sharing Twi books on her YouTube channel to encourage others. Storytime with Mary is a YouTube channel that’s dedicated to reaching deep into your preschool children’s imaginations through the love of reading. Storytime with Mary was born out of Mary's absolute love and passion for reading to her own young children and wanting to share that passion far and wide. As a full time working mother she knows how hard it is to find time to read a bedtime story to small children and the aim of this site is to take that stress away by reading along with your little ones. Research tells us that reading to and with preschool-age children helps to stimulate their brains, communication and social skills. The aim of storytime with Mary is to entertain while helping aid development.
