Come and join us for our first big event since re-opening! We welcome everyone to come and celebrate Eid and learn about South Asian crafts, culture and history. This event was suggested by a Pakistani local resident and we think it is a fab idea!
On Saturday 29th May come to The Old Library for a taste of traditional Pakistani cuisine, South Asian inspired arts and crafts activities, an exhibition by Usarae Gul and a documentary screening on art in the Islamic World followed by a Producer and Director Q&A with Faris Kermani.
1pm - 3pm: Usarae Gul's Craft Workshops inspired by South Asian truck art. This activity is perfect for all ages, from toddlers to adults!
2pm - 4pm: Check out the ‘Usarae Gul - Chimeric Creations’ exhibition and get involved with activities - including exploring the term 'nationality' as part of our Discuss and Decolonise programme.
4pm - 6pm: Introduction from Hamza, a local resident who has planned the Culture Day, and a documentary screening of 'The Hidden Art of Islam' followed by a Producer/Director Q&A with Faris Kermani.
The Bookstore Deli + Restaurant will be serving South Asian inspired snacks and meals will be served until 9pm. Book your table here.
We would love to know roughly how many people are coming so please get a free ticket. We won’t be checking tickets but it is great to keep track of these things during the Covid-19 world.
