ERITHIANS - Introduction to the World of Podcasts Workshop

Ever wanted to make a podcast? The Exchange is collaborating with leading professional podcaster, Clare Lynch, to host an ‘Introduction to Podcast Making’ workshop with the hope to develop a podcast series called ‘Erithians’. Erithians is a podcast project collecting stories about Erith and sharing them on RTM radio. The concept of Erithians aims to highlight key histories, livelihoods and stories from our Erith community in order to celebrate Erith’s culture and diversity. Erithians is a project by the Exchange in collaboration with TACO! And RTM.FM.

This introduction workshop will give you the necessary background and confidence to get started in making and planning Erithians for eventual broadcast and distribution…

Clare has worked on many Podcast projects including with her local community of Soho. In 2019 she produced a podcast series with the The Photographers Gallery, London - including her own Soho Then a photo-based podcast series where she documented peoples memories and experiences of living and working in Soho from 1920-2000, featured in Observer newspaper, Time Out and BBC Radio 4 Extra. It was also included in 'Shot in Soho’ exhibition.

She is currently working with her local radio station Soho Radio producing and presenting talk show The Soho Hour - helping the community of Soho stay connected during this time (that was recently featured in the Observer). Alongside her work at Soho Radio she produces podcasts for campaigners, activists and arts organisations. Recent series, Sculpting Lives, produced by Clare for the Paul Mellon Centre for British Art, was selected as Art podcast of the week in Guardian in March 2020.

Clare is an advisor and trainer for RTM.FM (Radio Thamesmead) and hosts talks and workshops including Accumulate, The Art School for the Homeless, at Ravensbourne University, Shout Out festival and Goldsmiths University.
