Organised by musician Matt Ward, Jazz Sunday is a regular feature on the fourth Sunday of each month at The Exchange. Grab a drink from The Bookstore and be entertained by some fabulous jazz performed by the house band.
For September, the house band accompanies local resident and singer, Charlotte Jacobs. Charlotte is originally a classically trained singer, performer, pianist, and vocal coach based in Erith. She has taught at Kent Stage and Stagecoach and has gone on to specialise in musical theatre and early stages. She is also experienced in a variety of other musical styles, including blues, jazz, and folk. As a singer she has performed in several concerts and solo shows, is part of an Andrews Sisters tribute act, and will be familiar to patrons of the open mic nights at The Exchange! Notable singing roles include Cassie in A Chorus Line, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Beryl in Brief Encounter, and Cosette in Les Miserables. Charlotte draws inspiration from singers and songwriters spanning generations, from Peggy Lee and Doris Day, through to Sarah Bareilles and Jessie J. For this month's Jazz Sunday she will perform a variety of classics by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Pery Ribeiro, and Sarah Vaughan.
The line-up is:
Vocals - Charlotte Jacobs
Guitar - Carl Emery
Keys - Conor Litten
Bass - Cyril Manual
