Organised by musician Matt Ward, Jazz Sunday is a regular feature on the fourth Sunday of each month at The Exchange. Grab a drink from The Bookstore and be entertained by by this month's featured band.

For October, the house band is joined by up-and-coming jazz trombonist Felix Fardell. Felix studied Music at St Peter’s College, Oxford, graduating in 2020. As well as being instrumental scholar at St Peter’s, he was a choral scholar at Merton College and Principal Trombonist of the Oxford University Jazz Orchestra and the Oxford University Orchestra. With these groups and others he has performed at venues around the UK, including Pizza Express Dean Street and Leeds Town Hall, and abroad in Japan, Thailand, and Poland. In September 2020 Felix began his studies on the Postgraduate Jazz course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, studying principally under Trevor Mires, Nichol Thomson, Gareth Lockrane and Eric Crees. He is also choral scholar in the choir of St Luke’s, Chelsea, and is a founding member of a new contemporary jazz ensemble, Lyra.

The band will be playing from between 2pm and 4pm, and will open up the floor to a jam at around 3:30pm. Please feel free to bring your instrument along and a tune to play!
