The Carnegie Ensemble: A Centenary Concert for Percy Hilder Miles

Join us for a centenary celebration of Erith composer Percy Hilder Miles. This concert will mark the 100th anniversary of Percy’s death, and will include his ‘Jupiter’ Septet (1897) and his Sextet in G minor (1917) which won him the Carnegie Award for new music in 1920.

The Carnegie Ensemble is led by local resident and Lead Viola for the BBC Symphony Orchestra Phil Hall who has been in touch with Percy’s distant relatives to rediscover this work. These revived pieces will also be recorded at The Exchange later in the year, so will be remembered for years to come!

Ticket holders are also invited to a talk given by Phil on Percy Hilder Miles’s story, music and the rediscovery of this exciting piece of Erith history.

The presentation will be from 2 - 2:30pm in the North Room.
