The Town Square

Originally the main body of the library, the “Town Square” is our central space where we tell the story of our building and The Exchange’s work, and hold events that bring the community together.

Currently you can discover the history of the Old Library, see the beautiful art created by the Life Drawing group, and find out about Ghanaian design, craft and culture through our AKWAABA programme, curated by local resident Pauline Brobbey. This includes activities and books to explore for young people.

Also, have a look at the chairs and tables – all have been made by our volunteer Timber Team, designed for this building by design group Mentsen.
